Review the whole enclosure
The relationship between the pool, house doors, gates and surrounding ground matters. Use applicable local requirements and the CPSC’s pool-barrier guidance as starting references. Product dimensions alone do not establish that the finished barrier is suitable or approved.
Give gates particular attention
Closing and latching arrangements are central to a barrier’s function. Disclose pool use when discussing gate work so ordinary yard hardware is not assumed appropriate. Confirm the complete design with the responsible authority and qualified installer.
Consider nearby objects and grade
Furniture, equipment and changes in ground level can affect access around a barrier. Include these conditions in the assessment. Do not treat a fence as a replacement for active supervision or other appropriate safety measures.
Confirm capability and approval
